Chimera is a short animated film made by Lees Duggan, of which I had the honor to do the soundtrack for. It consists mainly of avant-garde folk music, but it does occasionally showcase influences from the likes of free jazz and sound collage. My first soundtrack work that wasn't for my own projects.
A three-song suite that features influences from experimental shades of folk music, free jazz, drone, electronic music and much more. Its title can mean "doodles" or "drafts" in Portuguese, depending on how you read it.
The soundtrack to my first animated short film. It is a dense, collaborative and international project featuring input from musicians that previously worked on Poemas, as well as musicians I have collaborated with for the first time ever. It holds a similar importance to me as that of Poemas, especially when it comes to directing a project. This soundtrack is especially important to the film, as the film's rhythm and pacing is highly indebted to the flow of its soundtrack and how every song interacts with of the film's scenes.
A compilation album featuring a plethora of unreleased songs, loose material previously released as singles and quite possibly a bit more than that. The material on this compilation was recorded from 2019 to 2022.
Unofficially the last of my 2021 albums, and a much more ambitious undertaking as it features the same approach of previous album Autoentiltolado but features a vast array of guest musicians and way more instruments. An important album for me as an artist, as it taught me how to direct and lead a project with more people involved.
A looser album that delves into an array of different styles of experimental music (predominantly noise) and longer song lengths. My longest album thus far, at about 74 minutes in length.
An experimental noise rock album with a semi-conceptual edge. Meant to represent the entrance into a cupola of light and what would go on inside it. No electric instruments were used in the making of this album, and everything is just filtered through GarageBand's many guitar and bass amps. The drums are also a GarageBand preset.
My first album of 2021, and my personal favorite of them all. A foray into sound collage and improvised music that channels plenty of the emotions I felt during the pandemic and its lockdown, with sounds that range from folk music to lowercase, from hardcore punk to Brazilian funk. Virtually all songs are instrumentals, and the album was recorded from 2019 to 2021.
